Ramovic: This Is Start Of Good Things For My Players

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic said, having seen his side reach the Carling Knockout Cup final at the expense of AmaZulu, is the start of good things to come.

Galaxy held off the resistance of AmaZulu late in the semi final in an exciting 3-2 win match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

They will now meet Stellenbosch FC at the same venue in Durban on 16 December.

“It is just unbelievable on what the players can do every day, credit goes to the players,” said Ramovic to the iDiski Times on the side after the press conference was finished.

“We are trying of course our best and it is beautiful because it appeared impossible to reach the final. For me as a coach, young coach – it is just amazing with this squad, with this club, new club that we have, it’s just beautiful.

“This is just the start of good and beautiful things. It is why I say, it is a process for this club and soon it will be one of the best club in history and I have always said it.

“Why? Because we are always trying to improve every day. But we know we are not going to the final to add up numbers but to fight to win.”

It is remarkable to see Galaxy reach the final and the work done by Ramovic, who lost key players during the off-season such as Melusi Buthelezi, Bathusi Aubaas, Given Msimango, Aphelele Teto, Junior Traore, Tshegofatso Nyama and Menzi Ndwandwe amongst others.

Playing at the Moses Mabhida Stadium will bring good memories for Galaxy as their first major trophy in the PSL came at the same venue in the 2018/19 season when Dan Malesela’s side beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final. They historically became the first second-tier side to win what is known as the FA Cup version of South Africa.

“This club will win a lot of trophies,” said Ramovic when he was reminded that Galaxy won their first cup at the same venue.

“This club, with its chairman (Tim Sukazi), has a clear idea of what he wants, what he believes and this is a great thing. Because, again, if the chairman came for coaches who have the highest education, it means he understands football.

“This is a great man. I have a fantastic relationship with him and he sees that we are trying every day to improve the club, to improve everything and I’m just happy to have a chairman like him in our club.”
