PSL Star Lands In Hot Water Over Kasi Tournaments

Moroka Swallows will come hard at Tshediso Pajtie who was seen playing in the Kasi games, which is likely to be a double punishment from him by the club.

The former Baroka FC and Sekhukhune United talent had his picture all over social media in the past couple of days playing in the Kasi games and it is something that Swallows management does not need now because they have so much on their plate to deal with.

Club chairman David Mogashoa said what Patjie did was unacceptable because his contract doesn’t allow him to play social matches, because if he gets an injury, it will be the duty of the club to look after him and if not, they will be seen as bad people.

What also baffled Mogashoa is that Patjie was part of the players who refused to play for Swallows against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows respectively in two DStv Premiership games late last month due to non-payment. Still, it is easy for him to play in the Kasi games.

Swallows’ players took a standoff last month as they were not paid their salaries early in December and are still not paid as it stands, with Mogashoa confirming that they will have an internal DC meeting with them on Friday to clear the air.

“How do you not want to play against Sundowns, and you are playing Kasi tournament?” asked Mogashoa.

“He is going to be charged for that, there is no other way, he is going to be charged.”

It means Patjie will be charged twice by Swallows, first as part of the players who refused to play these matches and playing Kasi matches.

The standoff on not playing these two DStv Premiership matches was orchestrated by eight players within the club, according to iDiski Times sources.

The PSL has already charged Swallows for bringing the league, the sponsors, and broadcaster partners into disrepute for asking the league not to play these matches due to internal issues.

According to the PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu, they will learn their fate on 11 January, which a monetary fine is expected to form part of the punishment along with walkover likely points given to Sundowns who came to the venue at Loftus Stadium along with match officials, but Swallows players were not.

In the game of Golden Arrows, the Durban club did not travel to Dobsonville Stadium after they were made aware, and it is not clear what type of punishment Swallows will receive from that because they informed the league days before the match, unlike that of Sundowns game.
