Bafana Bafana duo Teboho Mokoena and Ronwen Williams were included in the Sofascore Team of the Tournament for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Players are selected based on their average Sofascore ratings throughout the tournament, with no player receiving a higher rating than Bafana captain Williams with 7.80.
He is followed by Angola forward Gelson Dala with 7.62 and Cape Verde defender Logan Costa with 7.40 – both were also included in the Team of the Tournament.
In midfield, Mokoena had the highest Sofascore rating with 7.30.
AFCON champions Ivory Coast also had two representatives in the Best XI, with Young PLayer of the Tournament Simon Andringa (7.28) being joined by Franck Kessie (7.23), while losing finalists Nigeria also had two players, namely Ademola Lookman (7.23) and Calvin Bassey (7.27) – with Player of the Tournament William Toost-Ekong missing out on the Sofascore Best XI.
