Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung has urged fans to be wary of fake news around the club during the off-season.
Motaung was speaking at the launch of the Toyota Cup where the club will face Young Africans in Bloemfontein on 28 July in the pre-season exhibition fixture.
Chiefs and Celtic legends will also feature in the extravaganza for Free State supporters with ticket prices starting at R40.
But amidst the excitement around the club with a new technical team led by head coach Nasreddine Nabi… Motaung addressed the various reports around the team regarding players and staff.
“The preference is really not to talk about it now, I think there’s going to be more press releases and more information to be released, we just announced him yesterday, lovely to see him running with his team already and doing some amazing stuff,” Motaung said.
“But definitely will make announcements around him, players and any other movements that are taking place, I’d like to also say to supporters, please listen to the official club information, because there’s a lot …. it’s silly season.
“There’s a lot of supporters and reporters, might I say, that want to be the ones breaking news, allow the club to make announcements, we will be making announcements soon.”
Amakhosi are currently in Turkey where the club has promised to make announcements on their upcoming fixtures in Europe.
