Dortley – What Nabi & Broos Have In Common

Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Rushwin Dortley says he has benefitted from his club coach Nasreddine Nabi and Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos opting for a similar playing style.

Dortley, 22, has experienced a meteoric rise to his career after joining Amakhosi from Cape Town Spurs during the off-season.

While he’s impressed at Chiefs so far and instantly secured a spot in Nabi’s starting XI, he also used his opportunity to impress the national team coaches in the COSAFA Cup.

Ever since then, he has become a permanent feature in Broos’ Bafana starting XI, featuring in five games so far – and now insisted the similarities between Nabi and Broos have helped him to adapt.

“I’ve learned a lot from my club coach, coach Nasreddine Nabi,” he said when asked about difference and similarities of the two coaches.

“His style of play that’s the way I want to play. It’s the way I like to play and coach Nabi is the exact same thing, so I’ve adapted quickly to his style of play.

“I think [with] coach Hugo Broos it’s a similar thing – the way they want to play, the way they want to do things, that’s why it’s been easy for me to adapt Hugo Broos.”
