Nabi Heaps Praise On New Additions

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says their three January signings have been ‘important’ for the club.

Chiefs roped in Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United in a swap deal with Christian Saile, who is said to be on loan, Thabo Cele on a free transfer after he parted ways with Russian Premier League side Fakel Voronezh and Glody Lilepo from Valenciennes.

Lilepo’s transfer from the French club is reported to be around R9.5-million, with a key emphasis on his signing as a player known by the technical team, having previously tried to sign him at Young Africans as ASFAR in years gone by.

“I think the last three signings have been important for the club, it’s good opportunities for us, good profiles for Kaizer Chiefs,” Nabi said ahead of their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.

“if you speak about Lilepo, it’s four games, three goals, the performance of Thabo Cele is what I needed exactly in a midfielder.

“He has personality, character, skills, technical skills, I think he lives and loves Kaizer Chiefs like I love my wife – but he is very high level with good skills.

“Morris, I think we don’t have another player of his profile. We will look for another Morris with efficiency, okay he doesn’t score too much with other clubs but he has the quality what I need, he needs some work on one or two things but with time, in future he will give a lot to Chiefs.”

Chiefs face Sundowns on Saturday afternoon at a sold out Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium (15h30).
