Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has confirmed they will potentially have six players back in contention for selection after the upcoming FIFA international break.
Chiefs have come off a gruelling past few weeks with four games in quick succession, which brought only one victory in regulation time as they went on to advance to the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup by ousting Kabuscorp via penalties.

Now as they return to league action against AmaZulu tomorrow, a positive result will be the mission to potentially move back into the top three of the table – and then look to welcome several key players back into the first team full training.
Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, Given Msimango, Rushwin Dortley and players who have yet to make their debuts Asanele Velebayi and Etiosa Ighodaro will provide further competition in the squad selection process post the FIFA break.
“I think it’s very important and crucial for us [to have this break] we’re waiting for this break, mentally it’s been tough on the players to play PSL, CAF and every two days either game or meeting in camp, then you come back, training,” he said.
“So mentally it’s been tough for them, they need some rest and for the injuries, we have three or four players, Monyane, Mako, Given, Dortley, we are waiting for them to come back, Ighodaro too.
“So, I think after this break, they will be with us, they will be ready – and with Velebayi, the paperwork of him will be ready, so I think after these two weeks, it will be very good for the team, mentally, physically and for the injured players to come back. It also gives us time to work and prepare properly for the next games.”
