The 241st edition of iDiski Times is out now — packed with features, exclusive interviews, and powerful voices from across the football world.
After Monnapule Saleng’s transfer from Orlando Pirates to Mamelodi Sundowns, Matshelane Mamabolo spoke to Lebogang Mokoena, someone who is all too familiar with swapping the black and white for the yellow.
Not only Saleng made the headlines, and we also take a look at all the Betway Premiership transfers in the January window.
After the unsavoury incidents that followed Mamelodi Sundowns’ 2-2 draw at home to Al Hilal, Bra Jakes also digs deeper into past situations that have soiled the beautiful game.
This week, Bra Jakes also takes us back 30 years as we celebrate the Class of 1996, the only Bafana Bafana generation to have won the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, with the anniversary of the final being on 3 February.
With the Betway Premiership back, we’re bringing you iDiski’s Top Ten — and this week we’re looking at the top ten left wingers in the first half of the season.
All that, plus the latest whispers from the Rumour Mill, and we start looking at South African football’s relationship and history outside of our borders in the World & South Africa, as we look back at the story of Albert Johanneson.

RIP Jeandre Gaffoor
(17 June 2005 – 1 February 2026)
iDiski Times was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Stellenbosch FC DDC player Jeandre Gaffoor on Sunday. The talented 20-year-old central midfielder had joined Stellenbosch FC’s Disk Challenge squad from Cape Town Spurs. Gaffoor spent seven years at Spurs, arriving at the club at just 12 years old when it was still known as Ajax Cape Town. Although he did not make a senior debut, he was promoted to the first-team squad in 2024. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, Stellenbosch FC, Cape Town Spurs, and the broader football community during this difficult time.
