Simba SC captain Rushine de Reuck admits he never thought twice about extending his stay with the club after penning a new deal with the Tanzanian giants.
The 30-year-old defender has enjoyed an incredible return to form since joining the club in the off-season, after four years with Mamelodi Sundowns where he fell out of favour in his final season.
He went on to have a short-term loan in the Isreali top-flight before the move to East Africa that has reinvirhoranted his career, playing in the CAF Champions League, now with former Stellenbosch head coach Steve Barker and with the leadership role at Nguvu Moha.
“I’m very happy obviously, you know, from the first moment I arrived at Simba, I felt a real connection to the fans, the way they welcomed me and just the appreciation really, I’m really happy I can continue my stay here,” he said.
“I want to say thank you to the fans, from the moment I arrived, when the team announced me, I felt so much love, never felt so much love in my career I’d say, this is why I have this connection with them. It’s something that really drives me to do the best I can every day and every day I step on the pitch.
“Sometimes my best won’t be my best but I will be honest with my performances on the field keep working and I just want to say thank you to them.”
De Reuck, who turned 30 last month, has signed a one-year extension with the club.
