Hugo Broos has announced his preliminary Bafana Bafana squad for the double-header against Panama this month.
The men’s national team will face Panama twice this month, first in Durban on 27 March and then in Cape Town four days later.
Bafana will use the two friendlies as preparation matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where they will kick off the tournament against Mexico. They will also face South Korea and an European team yet to be confirmed.
Bafana return to action for the first time since being knocked out at the Last 16 of the recent Africa Cup of Nations, where they were knocked out by Cameroon.
There was still no Gift Links in the squad, while Bathusi Aubaas and Thalente Mbatha were also absent but Themba Zwane, who last played for the national team in October 2024, returned – as did Patrick Maswanganyi.
Broos will still cut down his squad, with the final selection expected next week Monday.
