Chiefs Legend Lands Head Coaching Job

Former Kaizer Chiefs hard-tackling midfielder Willard Katsande has been entrusted with the head coaching role at Rangers FC, a club competing in Zimbabwe’s Northern Region Division One League.

The 40-year-old landed in his native home country on Monday to assume his role at Rangers.

‘Salt & Vinegar’ was known for his no-nonsense approach in the heart of the Amakhosi midfield after being whisked away from the now defunct Ajax Cape Town in 2011.

He made 346 appearances for the Glamour Boys between 2011 and 2021, scoring 19 goals with a further 10 assists across all competitions.

Katsande also wore the Chiefs armband and won two league titles and the MTN8 trophy.

Upon his exit from Naturena, the former Warriors international joined Sekhukhune United in 2022 before calling time on his career shortly after.

The Chinhoyi-based outfit is hoping that Katsande can lead them to success in the Northern Region Soccer League as he embarks on his first major coaching assignment in Zimbabwe.

He has since taken to social media to share the news with his followers and equally expressed being given the opportunity to begin his coaching career beyond his playing days.
