Orlando Pirates trio Nkosinathi Sibisi, Andre de Jong and Mpho Chabatsane are walking a suspension tightrope for the upcoming Soweto Derby ahead of their home clash against AmaZulu.
The Buccaneers welcome Usuthu to the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday as they look to reclaim top spot in the Betway Premiership.
Pirates sit just one point behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with a point or win taking them back to the summit, though they would’ve played two games more.
The eSgodini outfit were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Richards Bay FC at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex, a result that dealt them a blow to their title ambitions.
Sibisi picked up his third yellow booking of the campaign in the 6-0 thrashing of TS Galaxy while De Jong was booked three times at former club Stellenbosch FC.
Chabatsane is yet to get booked in Pirates colours but carried over the three bookings he recieved while still at Marumo Gallants over to his new employers.
Another player who sits on three yellow cards is defensive midfielder Sihle Nduli though he is unlikely to feature this season for the Buccaneers having sustained a long-term injury with just five matches left after the AmaZulu tie.
Chiefs Quartet On Soweto Derby Suspension Tightrope
Rivals Kaizer Chiefs on the other hand, have Flavio Silva, Mfundo Vilakazi, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo all in danger of missing the upcoming Soweto Derby.
All four players find themselves sitting on three bookings with one match to play before the Soweto Derby on Sunday, 26 April.
Silva picked up his third yellow card in their 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch FC back in February, a game in which he scored as well.
Vilakazi, who seems to be finding his form again, was yellow carded for the third time this campaign in the 0-0 stalemate against Siwelele in October last year.
The other two players, Ndlovu and Ngcobo, were booked against Durban City and Magesi, respectively.
