Potsane Scores As Siwelele End Chiefs Unbeaten Run

Siwelele continued their impressive home form with a 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs, which ended their seven-match unbeaten run in the Betway Premiership.

Chiefs started the brighter of the two sides but saw the home side come out with two clear cut chances, Siphesihle Jeza finding the net but seeing the goal rule out for offside, before Tebogo Potsane struck moments later.

It was early as the sixth minute when the former Chiefs winger found the net and celebrated wildly – perhaps a sign of how frustrating his stint at the club was before he was released to join Siwelele as a free agent.

Jeza, not to be denied, then doubled the lead just before the half-four mark, with the 20-year-old winger opening his account in professional football after a promotion from the DStv Diski Challenge squad.

Chiefs looked to get back in the second half and it wasn’t a lack of chances created, but Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Ricardo Goss managed to secure 14th clean sheet in the league this season.

The win for Lehohonolo Seema’s side moves them to ninth in the league, while Amakhosi remain in third position in the league – with a five point buffer over fourth-placed AmaZulu.
