Magesi FC head coach Allan Freese has acknowledged how things are turning for the worst for his side following their 3-0 hammering by Orlando Pirates.
However, the coach couldn’t fault his players saying they gave a good performance in the game despite the loss.

The Limpopo side went into the game needing nothing but a win to keep their survival hopes alive but the result coupled with outcomes of matches involving their direct competition meant they had sunk even deeper into trouble.
Dikwena tṧa meetse remained at the bottom of the log with 21 points in 28 matches, four points from safety now with their survival not resting solely in their own hands.
Freese explained how tough it was to not have a full complement of players to choose from including captain and goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze made his job hard on the night.
“It doesn’t get better it just gets worse,” said Freese.
“We tried to do our best to get a result. I think we worked hard to come and give a performance. Also, we are playing a team that’s also fighting for the league. So, it’s difficult to play because most of my players I didn’t have today. I’ve got injuries, I cannot play two of Pirates players, so it makes it difficult.
“I’ve got two games to play I got players on three yellows. What do I do? But it puts me in a very, very awkward position, because now I’ve got to concentrate on the last two games that I must play. But I just think the guys out here today did a very, very good job. They showed a lot of character, and I think they really, really wanted to play.
“Okay, we can say this and say that these are the mistakes we make, go fix the mistakes. That’s all we can do. Fix the mistakes before the next game starts. So that’s where we are at the moment. Chipezeze had a little bit of a flu. Why risk it? So that’s why we didn’t play him, so we don’t want to risk it.
Freese added that despite his empathy towards his players their reality is starring them in the face and will need to win the remaining matches.
“We got to be honest and have a look at what the log says the log doesn’t lie,” added the coach.
“It has put us really, really under a lot of pressure now that in the last two games, we must get a result, or otherwise we’re in trouble.
“It’s easy as that, we get a result or we’re in trouble. So that’s what pressure is if you’re at the bottom, lot and lot of pressure is at the bottom. So, if you don’t do well in the next two games, it can be a problem.”
Magesi next face Siwelele away from home before hosting Richards Bay in their final match of the season.
