Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena admitted he dreamt about scoring in the CAF Champions League final.
The 29-year-old scored a stunning goal on the stroke of half-time, as Sundowns held ASFAR to a 1-1 draw at a sold-out Stade Prince Moulay Abdallad Stadium.
Mokoena was named Man of the Match for his performance in the final and later admitted he dreamt about scoring in today’s final.
“Today when I was sleeping, I saw myself scoring a goal like that,” he told Mazola Molefe on SABC Sport.
“I’ve been saying to my family ‘I hope God is on our side tonight’ and he was.
“I’m very grateful, I’m very happy. I know how much it means for everyone back home. The stuff, everyone. Mom Zo in the kitchen, our supporters – a small group, our 57 people home.
“I’m very excited, I don’t know what to say next time we’re gonna wear this jersey, it’s going to have two stars, so I’m very happy.”
As African champions, Sundowns also secured their spot in the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, the 2026 CAF Super Cup and the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
