Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies took pole position in the Super Era Stream after baptising newcomers Diepkloof Ladies 6-0 on the opening weekend of the Hollywoodbets Super League Amplified held at UJ’s Soweto campus.
Captain Lebohang Ramalepe and Noxolo Cesane scored in the first half while Nonhlanhla Mthandi, Refilwe Tholakele, Lelona Daweti and Boitumelo Rabale netted in the second stanza to hand the defending champions maximum points.
The rookies are at the bottom of the eight team log.
University of Pretoria are second in the stream also with three points after defeating another new side in Stellenbosch Ladies 3-0. Limpopo’s Copperbelt Ladies also grabbed maximum points with a 3-1 victory over Richmond United.
TS Galaxy Queens and University of Western Cape (UWC) couldn’t be separated as they played to a pulsating 2-2 draw to grab third and fourth places respectively on the table.
In the Super Rise stream, JVW FC opened their 2026 account with a 4-1 victory over new side Ramatlaohle. Player of the match Gabriela Salgado-Moodaly opened the scoring for the Blue Diamonds, followed by last campaign’s Young Player of the Season Bonolo Mokoma, while veteran midfielder Nompumelelo Nyandeni scored the third and Julia Goncalves grabbed the winner. Ramatlaohle’s consolation was a penalty converted by Thabiso Mohlala.
Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) saw off City Lads 2-0 to grab second spot in the stream thanks to Ester Ndou and Malesa goals. There was also a win for the festival hosts UJ, 2-0 victory over Ezemvelo with Cinderella Mibe and Mpho Dlamini getting the goals for the Orange Army who are third on the table.
Meanwhile, there were no goals between University of Fort Hare and First Touch Academy.
The next festival is scheduled for 19-21 June in Tshwane as the next two weeks are for international friendlies where Banyana Banyana will be travelling to Japan.
