Newly crowned Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates have scooped two monthly awards with head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou walking away with the Coach of the Month accolade and Sipho Chaine the Player of the Month for May.
The two guided the Buccaneers to a 14-year league trophy capture after their 2-0 win over ORBIT College this past weekend at Mbombela Stadium.

In May, Ouaddou led his charges to pick up three wins from four matches with a draw from eight matches while clean sheet king Chaine did not concede a single goal in four matches.
Sekhukhune United’s Bright Ndlovu took home the Goal of the Month award for his outstanding long-range strike against Siwelele FC this past weekend at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
For the French-Morrocan Ouaddou, this was his third Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award while Chaine, who kept a record 21 clean sheets in a single league campaign earned his maiden monthly award.
Ouaddou avoided stiff competition from Miguel Cardoso of Mamelodi Sundowns, who despite missing out on domestic success, delivered the coveted CAF Champions League trophy to the Kabo Yellow Nation on Sunday night, and Bernard Parker of TS Galaxy, for the gong.
It’s no surprise to see the Orlando Amstel Arena outfit dominating these proceedings. They have won the monthly awards a total 10 times across three different categories since August 2025.
