Orlando Pirates loanee Karim Kimvuidi has bid farewell from FC Ashdod in Israel after the side got relegated.

Kimvuidi, 24, had joined the Ligat ha’Al on loan after finding game-time at Pirates hard to come by in 2024/25 under Jose Riveiro.

He had joined the Buccaneers from Maritzburg United in July 2023, and even though he made 37 appearances across two season, he only started 10 of those games.

At Ashdod, he made 25 appearances this season, scoring four goals and assisting two more, but couldn’t prevent his side’s relegation to the Liga Leumit.

On Saturday, Kimvuidi sent a farewell message to the Israeli side, as his future at Pirates hangs in balance, with his Buccaneers contract set to expire.

“I wanted to thank everyone on the team for giving me this opportunity to be part of this great family,” he wrote on Instagram.

“The people who trusted me, the committee, the coaching staff, the players, and the fans.

“Now the story ends here, but it was an unforgettable moment being with you in the locker room and especially off the pitch.

“I will be forever grateful. I wish you all the best for the future.

“Thank you again.”
