British Football Academy youngster Khulekani Nxumalo has returned to English club Queens Park Rangers for a further assessment.
The 18-year-old previously underwent three trials in England in February this year, training with Premier League giants Manchester City, QPR, and Bolton Wanderers.
The youngster earned the opportunity after putting in impressive performances for British, an academy based in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal.
Having done well during his initial assessment with QPR earlier this year, he departed for England at the weekend for a second, week-long trial.
“Dreams demand courage. The next chapter starts now. Today, we proudly see off one of our own as Khulekani Nxumalo departs for England for his second assessment with Queens Park Rangers (QPR),” British Academy posted on social media.
“This opportunity is the result of countless hours on the training ground, sacrifices made behind the scenes, and an unwavering commitment to chasing his dream.
“While the journey is far from over, this is another major step forward and a moment that deserves to be celebrated.”
South Africa already boasts a representative at QPR in defender Tylon Smith. The former Stellenbosch FC man joined the English outfit at the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign and went on to break into the senior side, making four first-team appearances this past season.
