Former Orlando Pirates and Chippa United midfielder Siphelo Baloni is set to make his long-awaited return to football after spending more than a year on the sidelines through injury.
The midfielder, who was released by the Buccaneers last year August, endured a challenging 14-month recovery period, during which he was watching from afar as he worked tirelessly to regain full fitness.
Reflecting on the difficult journey, Baloni took to Instagram to share his emotions, opening up about the pain, frustration, and mental battles he faced during rehabilitation.
Now fully recovered, Baloni says he is ready for the next chapter of his career. The midfielder revealed that he returns not only physically stronger but also mentally refreshed, carrying a renewed sense of determination and hunger ahead of the 2026/27 season.
“For 14 months, I watched the game I love from the sidelines. There were days filled with pain, doubt, frustration, and questions about when my moment would come again,” said Baloni.
“Rehab tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally. It taught me patience when I wanted progress, faith when I couldn’t see the finish line, and resilience when giving up seemed easier.
“Today, I stand healed.
“Looking back, I realize that my injury didn’t break me-it built me. It strengthened my character, deepened my faith, and reminded me that every setback carries a lesson.
“I return with a grateful heart, a stronger mind, and a renewed hunger for the game. The comeback start now.
“Healed. Grateful. Ready.”
