Kaizer Chiefs have secured the signing of Khanyisa Mayo permanently according to reports in Algeria.

Latest information coming from Algeria state that Chiefs have signed Mayo permanently from CR Belouizdad after he spent last season on loan at Naturena.

According to information received, Amakhosi forked out a transfer fee close to double million Rand figures to secure Mayo on a permanent deal.

Mayo didn’t have much time to showcase his goalscoring attributes last season as he was more on the sidelines due to injuries.

The 27-year-old played just over 600 minutes and scored two goals. Of his 15 appearances, seven have been starts, while he was often brought on as an impact substitute by the previous co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Ben Khalil Youssef.

But with a new technical team taking over at Chiefs under Fernando Da Cruz, the proven Betway Premiership goalscorer will aim to use this new opportunity to get a first-choice place in the team.

The former Cape Town City striker is familiar with the league, finishing the 2022/23 season as the top goalscorer with 12 goals, before scoring 10 goals the following season.

Overall, he has netted 28 goals in 88 Premier Soccer League appearances so far.
