Kaizer Chiefs and Scotland FC have announced their starting line-ups for the 2026 Toyota Cup, which will be played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg this afternoon.

The new season is fast approaching in South Africa, and the time for preparations is almost up. Chiefs recently returned from Spain, where they had pre-season training and played three friendly matches.

Fernando Da Cruz, who has been appointed as the new head coach, replacing coaches Cedric Kaze and Ben Khalil Youssef, is expected to show his preferred line-up in the Toyota Cup.

He could also become the first coach to win the trophy at Chiefs since it was relaunched two years ago.

Meanwhile Scottland’s season is still playing in Zimbabwe, and they are sitting at the top, which doesn’t come as a surprise, as they have a quality squad, including the likes of Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat, Walter Musona and Terrence Dzukamanja.

This is the first time these two sides face each other, but looking at the history, South African clubs have dominated the fixtures against Zimbabwean teams.

Here is how they line up:

Chiefs XI: Petersen, Monyane, Cross, Miguel, Frosler, Maboe, Mtasingwa, Vilakazi, Velebayo, Chislett, Da Silva

Subs: Leaner, Bvuma, Solomons, Moloisane, Kwinika, Msimango, Mthethwa, Mmodi, Ngcobo, Ighodaro, Baartman, Duba, Nkgwesa
