Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi is not leaving anything to chance ahead of their highly anticipated MTN8 quarterfinal clash against Durban City on Saturday.
The Buccaneers start their cup defence with a home fixture at Orlando Amstel Arena as they target a record fifth MTN8 title on the trot.
In last season’s final, Pirates romped to an emphatic 3-0 win over Stellenbosch FC to make it four Wafa Wafa titles in a row. Tshepang Moremi struck a brace with Tshegofatso Mabasa scoring the other as Abdeslam Ouaddou and his troops captured their first 2025/26 trophy.
They went on to complete a domestic treble adding the Carling Knockout Cup and Betway Premiership crown to the lot.
With anticipation building up to Saturday’s tie, the Bafana Bafana centre-back warned his charges against complacency.
“It’s a competition we’ve become familiar with, and one we’ve enjoyed success in,” he told Pirates’ official website.
“We’re looking forward to facing Durban City and starting another MTN8 campaign. Whenever we play Durban City, it’s always a game with consequences.
“We know the quality they have, and we’ve prepared well as a team.
