Mamelodi Sundowns have reached a club-to-club agreement with FC Copenhagen for the sale of Thapelo Maseko.
Maseko, 22, has been out of favour at Masandawana and revived his career on loan at AEL Limassol last season.
His performances in Cyprus impressed so much that former Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos included him in his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Maseko started three of the four games and scored the all-important goal in the 1-0 win over South Korea, which saw Bafana reach the knockout stages for the very first time.
But despite his heroics at the World Cup, Maseko remained out of Sundowns’ plans and Masandawana were looking to find a new suitor for the winger.
Danish giants, Copenhagen – the former club of Sibusiso Zuma – have now come to the fore, and reached a €1.5 million agreement with the Premier Soccer League side.
Personal terms are yet to be agreed but not expected to be a big stumbling block, with Maseko keen to continue his career in Europe.
