Bafana Bafana winger Thapelo Maseko was the star of the show in his first league start for FC Copenhagen in the Danish Superliga.
Maseko, 22, joined the Danish giants last month – from Mamelodi Sundowns after starring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup for South Africa – in a deal worth a reported €1.5-million.
And the winger has had to bide his time for his chance, impressing in three cameo appearances from the bench before earning his start this afternoon against Odense Boldklub.
He opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a trademark long range effort into the top corner and just after the half hour mark, his brace was ruled out after VAR review.
But Maseko was not to be denied on a day he won’t soon forget in Bolbro, as he bagged his second with 15 minutes to go as FCK ran out 5-0 winners.
Copenhagen moved top of the table with six wins and one defeat in their opening seven league games.
