Former Bafana Bafana striker Lars Veldwijk has officially joined Indonesian Super League side PSM Makassar.

Veldwijk, 35, is a well-travelled man, who has been Europe and middle-east, most notably with Suwon FC in South Korea where he scored 40 goals in 110 appearances.

Overall, the 35-year old has played 388 games in his footballing career and scored 155 goals with 61 assists, according to Transfermarkt.

The Dutch-born former PEC Zwolle striker has seven caps for Bafana Bafana but never established his place after qualifying via his grandfather.

He has now joined PSM Makassar after disappointing spell with Oman side Al-Nahda Club.

“Please welcome our number 7, Lars Veldwijk,” his new side stated.

“Lars becomes an addition to the strength on the front line of the Ramang Troops this season.

“Do your best, give everything, Ewako Lars”

Veldwijk becomes the third South African player to play in the Indonesian Super League after Percy Tau and Njabulo Blom although the latter never featured due to a serious injury.
