Orlando Pirates have announced their starting XI for their must-win clash against Mauritius’ La Cure Waves in the second leg of their first preliminary round CAF Champions League clash.
The Buccaneers were held to a goalless draw by the semi-professional team a week ago and are expected to comfortably beat them at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday.
The Buccaneers will be especially wary after missing out on the CAFCL group stages last season when they were knocked out by St Eloi Limpopo in the second qualifying round.
However in the first round, Pirates had made light work of Lioli, beating them 7-0 on aggregate.
The early exit came as a shock after the Sea Robbers had reached the semi-finals in the 2024/25 season, only losing to eventual winners Pyramids.
But the season before, Pirates were knocked out by Jwaneng Galaxy in the second round, too. So Abdeslam Ouaddou and his men will be warned not to take Saturday’s clash too lightly.
