IDiski TV analyst Benedict Tso Vilakazi believes that new Mamelodi Sundowns signing Thabo Cele will fit in very well in the side’s midfield, saying he could be the missing link.
Cele, 29, completed his move from Kaizer Chiefs to the two-time African champions this past week after he was released at Naturena after he didn’t make new coach Fernando Da Cruz’s plans.
Cele spent one-and-a-half seasons with Amakhosi where he made 35 appearances across all competitions, including in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Tso, a former Sundowns midfielder himself, says Cele’s addition will help in creativity in the Sundowns midfield, allow Marcello Allende to play more forward and can also be a stabiliser partnering with Teboho Mokoena.
“He’s going to suit very well at Sundowns,: said Tso on iDiski TV.
“It’s a ball playing team. He’s a ball player himself. I would say more or less like Allende where he controls the midfield, makes everyone play.
“He can come back at the back, and then help in terms of closing the spaces at the back, helping Tebza giving Allende more time to go forward because Allende he is good at going forward. He is good at creating those chances and scoring.
“So I think he’s going to fit very well in that midfield because I’ve seen that there’s a missing link in that midfield of Mamelodi Sundowns. They normally play with three and that are very good with the ball, they’re very intelligent in terms of playing.
“I am looking forward to seeing him playing with Tebza in that midfield and Allende seeing the creativity of Mamelodi Sundowns.”
