Orlando Pirates will face Namibian champions African Stars in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Buccaneers made light work of La Cure Waves, beating them 3-1 at Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday.
Goals by Kabelo Kgositsile, Kamogelo Sebelebele and Yanela Mbuthuma overturned the early opener by the visitors.
Pirates’ opponents were also confirmed after African Stars beat Mangasport of Gabon 2-0 at home, to progress on the away goal rule after overturning a 3-1 first-leg defeat.
African Stars progressed thanks to a 3-3 on aggregate and will now meet the Buccaneers in the second preliminary round.
Pirates will hope to make it to the group stages this season after failing in the second round last campaign, when they were knocked out by St Eloi Lupopo, and 2023/24 when they lost to Jwaneng Galaxy.
The second preliminary round will then take place from 16-18 October, and the returns legs on 23-25 October.
