Rulani Mokwena has continued his perfect start to life in Egypt, but his side were made work hard for their fifth win in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
Mokwena, who was named Manager of the Month for August, guided his side to a 2-1 comeback win El-Sharkia Enppi.
The home side opened the scoring via Hamed Abdallah after 47 minutes – the first goal Mokwena’s side conceded in the league, but Pyramids managed to equalise through Nasser Maher after 65 minutes.
Mokwena’s men kept on piling on the pressure and were rewarded in the 87th minute when Walid El Karti netted the late winner.
The victory saw Pyramids reclaim the lead in Egypt, with 15 points from five games – two ahead of Zamalek and Al Ahly.
Overall, Pyramids have won all seven games since Mokwena took charge of the club.
