‘Yeye’ joined Maaparankwe in September 2026 and got off to the perfect start with two wins on the trot as Chiefs beat Enesia and giants Township Rollers by an identical scoreline of 2-1.
Those wins were followed up by a victory in third consecutive matches as the 44-year-old continued his flawless winning run in Botswana steering Chiefs into the African Hero Top 8 semi-finals, hammering Morupule Wanderers 3-1 at the National Stadium in Gaborone to seal passage into the last four.
Their unbeaten run was however brought to a standstill by Jwaneng Galaxy, narrowly going down 1-0 at home.
Chiefs, though, bounced back on Saturday with the trouncing over the relegation-threatened Prisons XI, who have won just one game this entire campaign, sitting in 15th place.
Mpho Kgaswane gave Chiefs a 20th minute lead before the home side drew matters level. Kelvin Ndebele restored the lead in the 77th minute before Nicolas Melgarejo wrapped up matters in the 80th minute for the important win on the road.
Yeye’s next assignment is a tricky fixture away from home against BDF XI on Wednesday, 4 November, at the VTM Arena.
BDF are currently anchoring the foot of the log table in 16th spot.
