It’s been a happy return for the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder who has already gotten off to the best start since going back to the “Peaceful Nation” in September.
After making it back-to-back wins for Chiefs in the Botswana Premier League last week, ‘Yeye’ guided his team to cup progression in the hunt for silverware this campaign.
Chiefs were first to break the deadlock through former Cape Town Spurs marksman Mpho Kgaswane in the 26th minute.
The second period proved no different as they doubled their lead via Kelvin Ndebelele in the 70th minute with Kgaswane laying the assist.
Despite Wanderers pulling one back later on in the game, it was Chiefs who had the last laugh as Argentinian forward Nicolas Melgajero rounded off the tie in the 87th minute.
The result is also a confidence booster for Letsholonyane and his charges who next face Jwaneng Galaxy in the league on Wednesday, 28 October.
Maaparankwe find themselves in fourth place on the log standings with 10 points, just five adrift of leaders Gaborone United.
