Bafana Bafana attacking midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng has reacted after scoring in Royal Union Saint-Gilloise’s sensational comeback victory on Sunday.

Union SG bounced back from two goals down to thrash Cercle Brugge 5-2 in an action-packed Belgian Jupiler Pro League encounter.

Mofokeng played the full 90 minutes as Union SG sought a return to winning ways following a 1-1 league draw against Oud-Heverlee Leuven in their previous outing.

Continuing his rich vein of form, the former Orlando Pirates star found the back of the net in the 80th minute with a well-placed header to bag his fourth league goal of the season.

The South African international capped off an impressive performance deep into stoppage time by providing the assist for his side’s fifth goal, sealing an emphatic home victory and securing all three points.

Speaking after the final whistle, Mofokeng addressed his rare aerial goal, reacting to a question about how he managed to win a header despite being significantly smaller than most players on the field.

“It’s just on your mind, if the desire is there and the mentality is there, you’ll always get the goal,” said Mofokeng, as per Pro League.

“I think I gave my best, but I just have to do more for my team because when the ball is high, I just have to compete for it.”
