Richards Bay FC chairman Sifiso ‘Jomo’ Biyela has provided an update on the uMhlathuze Sports Complex after the venue was suspended from hosting official matches.
The Richards Bay-based stadium is home to Richards Bay FC and newly promoted Milford FC.

The PSL suspended the venue for four weeks from 13 August 2026, with rehabilitation work and a follow-up inspection required before it can return to hosting matches.
Biyela says PSL COO Professor Ronnie Schloss will travel to Richards Bay on Tuesday to inspect the facility following the completion of some of the required work.
“From what I’ve seen, I think the rain helped us because the grass is starting to be green,” said Biyela on Ukhozi FM.
“I’m not an expert on that, but Professor [Ronnie Schloss] is coming with his team tomorrow [Tuesday] to check how far the pitch is.
“So, we’re praying that if he looks at it, he approves that we can play. Tomorrow at 11 they will be in Richards Bay to have a look at it.”
Richards Bay are scheduled to play their next home match on 13 October when they host Mamelodi Sundowns.
Meanwhile, Milford FC will return to home action on 1 November against Sekhukhune United.
