Mamelodi Sundowns forward Abubeker Nassir has surprisingly made Ethiopia’s 28-man provisional squad for next month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Tanzania and Congo DR.
Nassir, 24, has had an injury-ravaged career since arriving at Sundowns from Ethiopia Bunna in 2022. Last season, he managed just 72 minutes in three appearances (2 Betway Premiership and 1 CAF Champions League).
The Addis Ababa-born pacey frontman has netted five goals in 21 appearances for Walia since making his debut in 2019 at age 20 and will be hoping to add to his tally for Gebremedhin Haile’s charges.
