Namibia’s final 23-man squad for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations will feature no less than nine players who ply their trade at South African clubs.
Five players – Peter Shalulile (Mamelodi Sundowns), Deon Hotto (Orlando Pirates), Lloydt Kazapua (Chippa United), Riaan Hanamub (AmaZulu) and Lubeni Haukongo (Cape Town Spurs) – play for clubs in the DStv Premiership.
The four players who feature in the Motsepe Foundation Championship are Edward Maova (University of Pretoria), Ananias Gebhardt (Baroka), Bethuel Muzeu (Black Leopards), and Joslin Kamatuka (Maritzburg United).
It is expected to be an almost all-PSL affair on the 21st of January when the neighbouring countries meet, with Bafana Bafana and Namibia both in Group E alongside Tunisia and Mali.
