Tunisia coach Jalel Kadri resigned from his role after his side were held to a goalless draw by Bafana Bafana, which meant failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations knockout stages.
The draw was enough for Bafana to finish in second place in Group E, while Tunisia needed a win to progress and the draw sends them home with just two points.
After their opening defeat to Mali, Tunisia drew 1-1 with Mali and 0-0 with South Africa, leading to Kadri to throw in the towel.
Initially Kadri stated in the press conference he still has a contract and will speak to the powers after the tournament.
“We apologise to Tunisian people, we apologise. Football is like this at times. We were not lucky against Bafana,” he said at the presser.
“I have answered this question [about resigning] before I have a contract and after AFCON a decision will be made.”
However, minutes later he told beINSPORTS that he resigned from his role.
