Ghana national team captain Andre Ayew has warned Bafana Bafana ahead of today’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers clash.
The Black Stars are three points behind South Africa in Group G, hoping to overtake Hugo Broos’ side and top the group with a win.
Despite losing the first encounter in South Africa 1-0, Ayew heads into the game with confidence and counts on history as the hosts haven’t lost many games in Ghana recently.
“We have had good results, not just at Cape Coast (Stadium), I don’t remember the last time we lost in Ghana, let’s be honest,” Ayew said in a press conference.
“So we need to stay like this, to keep the same spirit, the belief, we will be able to do it with the fans, they should come in all numbers tomorrow.
“We are going to make sure that we give everything for them to be proud of, it is a tough one coming, a lot of pressure behind this game for the nation for us.
“But that’s why we play this game, is to play these kinds of games. And now we have to be ready and perform and make our nation proud.”
The two teams will fight for the position one in the group G at Cape Coast Sports Stadium today at 21:00.
