The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) have unveiled the new CAF Champions league trophy in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The new trophy is the fifth different version for Africa’s elite club competition, with the latest design being in place between 2007 and 2024.
Mamelodi Sundowns, who lifted the previous version in 2016, could become the first side to win the new trophy, battling it out in this year’s final with newcomers Pyramids FC.
The first leg will be played on Saturday, 24 May in Pretoria, while the return leg is scheduled for 1 June in Cairo.
