Esperance de Tunis head coach Maher Kanzari reckons that lapse in concentration was the only difference between them and Mamelodi Sundowns in their CAF Champions League quarterfinal first-leg defeat.
The Tunisian giants were hoping to get a result in their clash in Tshwane on Tuesday afternoon but fell to a second-half Peter Shalulile goal.
The win sees Miguel Cardoso’s charges take a first-leg advantage and will be hoping to avenge last season’s semifinal heartbreak by doing the double over Tunis.
In his post-match interview on SABC Sport, Kanzari said there was not much between the two sides as they look to overturn the first-leg deficit and book their spot in the last four.
“It was a very tactical game and both teams they were no kind of clear-cut occasion either for Sundowns or for Esperance,” he said.
“But you know, at some point there was like lack of concentration and they score a goal.
“But I hope that in the second leg we do the job and get through.”
