Newly appointed Amajita captain Lazola Maku has remained tight-lipped about his future after spending several weeks in Europe after his exit from Siwelele.
Maku, 19, left Siwelele after the expiry of his contract and was assessed by a couple of clubs before returning to South Africa for the upcoming U20 Cosafa Championship in Mozambique.

He’s also been linked to Mamelodi Sundowns and as the most experienced figure in the squad, alongside Fletcher Smythe Lowe – he’s set to be a key figure, bringing the continental success and FIFA World Cup experience.
“At the moment I am focused with the U20 national team and hopefully after the tournament we will see [what happens],” he said when asked by iDiski Times about his recent assessments in Europe.
Maku racked up five appearances in the first team for Siwelele, having been part of the rebrand from SuperSport United.
“I don’t have a comment [on why I’m not contracted to a club at the moment],” the former Ubuntu Football Academy talent said before speaking on his appointment as the new captain.
“I’d like to thank the coach for appointing me as captain and for me being part of the previous U20 group, it’s for me to now help and lead the group, share my experiences with the team and hopefully lead the team to be victorious.”
