Rulani Mokwena dedicated Wydad AC‘s first Botola Pro Inwi win of the season to new club president Hicham Ait Menna.
The Red Castle registered their first win of the Botola Pro campaign after losing their first league match two weeks ago against MAS de Fes.
Mokwena’s side needed a 96th-minute penalty from Nassim Chadli to seal the three points, and speaking to the media after the match, Mokwena dedicated the win to club president Menna.
“Congratulations to Wydad,” the 37-year-old mentor said.
“I want to congratulate this group of amazing supporters I have never felt this level of passion. How much pride they have in their team, they never stop singing, they sing from the warm-up up until the end.
“They helped us really to get over the line even when the players were struggling, I want to thank them, they deserve more inshallah we will do our best to do more.
“I would like to dedicate this win to the [club] president Hicham, his father passed away yesterday.
“A couple of days ago I asked the players to play for him to make him happy. I’m very proud that the players were able to do that. He is very special, the Wydad fans should know they have a very special president, so passionate, so supportive.”
