Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has heaped huge praise on loan attacker Cassius Mailula who secured the club’s three points after being seemingly rejected by certain section of the club’s fans.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has been under immense pressure to deliver results since arriving in Morocco and it did not help his cause when Mailula struggled to find his feet upon his arrival from MSL outfit Toronto FC.

Just this past week, Mokwena had to be escorted by police presence after they went down 1-0 to RS Berkane, but all seems to be a thing of the past after Mailula’s 88th minute goal to move them into fifth spot, six points adrift of leaders Berkane.
The 23-year-old entered the fray in the 58th minute against FUS Rabat on Sunday evening and scored the winner with two minutes remaining in regular time, a win that ended an eight-match winless run for Wydad against Rabat.
“The best thing is when they say no, no, no, Cassius and Cassius score,” Mokwena told the media after the match.

“There are supporters, and there are coaches in some games, we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong, and most of the time, we get it wrong, but when we get it right, it feels good.
“And I’m proud of the effort of the players, unbelievable.”
