Benin head coach Gernot Rohr has announced a 24-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Bafana Bafana and Zimbabwe.
The Cheetahs currently occupy third spot and are tied on seven points with South Africa in second place and Rwanda in top spot.
Benin were beaten 2-1 by Hugo Broos’ charges in the corresponding fixture but picked up a huge 2-1 win over Nigeria and narrowly beat Rwanda 1-0. They were however held to a 0-0 draw by minnows Lesotho.
In their defeat to Bafana in Durban, Mounié scored the consolation goal and will be hoping to continue scoring when they tackle the Warriors on 20 March before their huge match-up against South Africa five days later at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
