Bafana Bafana remain top of the standings of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group after Nigeria and Zimbabwe played out to a 1-1 draw.

Both sides came into the tie at the Huye Stadium in Rwanda – where the Warriors are playing due to the national stadium not meeting CAF requirements – with one point.

Zimbabwe had drawn 0-0 with Rwanda and the Super Eagles laboured to a 1-1 draw against Lesotho at home – leaving South Africa as the only side with three points.

And Walter Musona’s first-half stunner threatened to compound underfire Jose Piseiro’s star-studded side with further misery.

But for all their endeavour to fight back, they could only muster a point as Kelechi Iheanacho netted an equaliser on 67 minutes.
