Bafana Bafana have roped in three additional football analysts ahead of the FIFA World Cup in North America, who will work remotely.

iDiski Times can exclusively confirm that Bafana has added Lamontville Golden Arrows’ Yardaan Valodia, an experienced analyst who previously worked for Mamelodi Sundowns; Shawn Bishop; and Tebogo Modise, a Swaziland treble winner with Nsingizini Hotspurs.

The two analysts (Modise & Valodia) will remain in South Africa, while Bishop will work from Belgium and work remotely with the other two Bafana analysts, Sinesipho Mali and Tinashe-Shingai Mukandatsama, who travelled with the team to the World Cup.

This is a succession plan; Mali is the head of the analysts in the set-up and has been with Bafana Bafana for some time. He’s got the experience of high-level having led Bafana Bafana in the AFCON semi-final two years ago, and also led them to their first World Cup qualifier since 2002.

Valodia has worked with South Africa U17 in the previous U17 FIFA World Cup. Bishop also played a massive role at Sundowns and will add international experience to the team, while Modise comes in with football brains and is part of the SA U20.

These five technocrats will carry the hopes of millions of South Africans to do their best in analysing the opponents, starting with Mexico in the opening game, followed by the Czech Republic and South Korea in the last match.

There has been whispers that it’ll be Mali’s last time working as a Performance Analyst in the National Team post the World Cup, so this plan is also a succession plan after serving as an analyst for all levels of national team, men and women, two senior world cups with Banyana Banyana and Bafana Bafana & back-to-back AFCONs.
