Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named his starting line-up for this evening’s friendly international against Tanzania at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
With Broos opting not to select Mamelodi Sundowns players due to the FIFA Club World Cup in the US in a few days’ time, the Belgian mentor made use of the opportunity to have a look at several new faces.
Tonight’s encounter will be the first of two friendlies (they also play Mozambique) as they gear up preparations for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this year.
The last time Broos’ charges were in action was in the AFCON Qualifiers against South Sudan down at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town running out comfortable 3-0 winners.
Broos has already emphasized the need to come out victorious in both matches as well as having a closer look at the new players at his disposal.
“Performance is the most important thing,” Broos said as per SuperSport.com.
“We want to win both matches, and we will do everything to achieve that. But more importantly, I want to assess the players—especially the new ones—without putting too much pressure on them.
“They just need to play their game, and from there, we will evaluate and plan for the future.”
Here’s how Bafana lines up:
