Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named his preliminary squad to face Congo Brazzaville in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualifiers next month.
South Africa look set to take their home game to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on 11 October, before travelling to face Congo at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat four days later.
In must-win fixtures after picking up four points in the previous FIFA International window, with a 2-2 draw at home against Uganda and a 3-2 win over South Sudan, it’s a crucial two games for Broos’ men.
With games coming in thick and fast since then, it will be a balancing act to find players in peak physical condition with the latest call-ups.
