Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel has addressed the impressive showings of academy product Aden McCarthy for Bafana Bafana and his potential.
McCarthy, 21, has been training sporadically with the first-team over the past couple of seasons but has yet to make his official first team debut.

A regular in the junior international teams and one of their consistent players in the DStv Diski Challenge squad, McCarthy has been subject of keen interest due to his showing in the recent African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Egypt.
He also showcased his ability in the Carling Cup with the All Stars team as they beat Magesi to the trophy in December, which has shown signs that he may be ready for more responsibility at Amakhosi.
“He trains with us sometimes, not a lot, I don’t know him personally so I will not lie, I am very honest, if I knew him very well, I would talk well about him,” Miguel said.

“I saw a couple of trainings we had together, I’m sure he’s doing great in Bafana, from what I’ve seen of him here [in training with the first-team].
“They [the young players] have to do that, it’s their job, they have to pressurise me, to pressurise us, to come and steal our jobs and if they do that it means they are ready and the club is going longer with them because they need them.”
The left-footed centre-back will be aiming to make his senior debut with Chiefs potentially having 12 more games in the current season, 10 in the league and additional two, should they reach the final of the Nedbank Cup.
