Mokwana – What Ronza & Tebza Told Me Before That Assist Vs Lesotho

Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana revealed that captain Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena told him to take on players like he did against Algeria before providing the assist for the opening goal against Lesotho.

Bafana and Likuena went into half time deadlocked in the Group C encounter in Polokwane before the ES Tunis man beat at least four opposition players to set up Relebohile Mofokeng for his first international goal. Jayden Adams then netted the winner to seal a 2-0 victory for South Africa over their neighbours.

Speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Matshelane Mamabolo in edition 197 of the newspaper, Mokwana said the Mamelodi Sundowns duo encouraged him to take the defenders on.

“I was not doing much in the first half,” said Mokwana.

“And at half-time Tebza and Ronza told me to do my thing. They told me to do just like I did against Algeria, to take the guys on. And I then I said to Sailor [Khuliso Mudau], ‘Pass me the ball, so I can try,’”
